ABOUT THERAPY
Growth and change occur most effectively when they are experiential. When we slow down and shine the light of attention on something together, it starts a process of bringing your thoughts, feelings, and experiences to greater awareness. As we explore your experience with curiosity, it opens up opportunities to identify and shift patterns that are no longer serving you and try new ways of relating to yourself and others.

I am a partner and a guide who brings in new skills, insight, and focused attention to patterns related to your goals. I support you in uncovering your own wisdom about your next steps. I offer resources to help you respond to physical symptoms of distress, such as anxiety, depression, or trauma. My expertise is helping you organize and understand your experience and use it to relate to yourself and others in new ways.
ABOUT ME
I have been a practicing therapist for 17 years. I have a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work, and a Master’s Degree in Biology. I have worked as a therapist at Whitman Walker Health, which provides medical and behavioral health care to the LGBTQ community, and at Washington Hospital Center. My experience also includes work as a trauma therapist for Montgomery County, MD, providing treatment to crime victims. I have also taught courses in body/mind approaches for anxiety and stress management as an adjunct at American University.

I am very interested in the relationship between the mind, emotions, and the body, and how they can be used together to promote healing. My approach as a therapist reflects my belief in the power of experiences and relationships to bring about change. I also enjoy incorporating body awareness and body-based interventions to help clients address anxiety, depression, and trauma at a deeper level, when it is of interest to them.

I have completed ongoing postgraduate training, supervision, and study in Relational Psychotherapy over the past 10 years. I am a Level II Sensorimotor Psychotherapy practitioner, who has completed specialized training in trauma processing. I am a training assistant for Level II Sensorimotor trainings in Developmental Injury.

My affiliations include:
Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis

I am licensed in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
